The Chatelaine (Chatelain/Castellan/Hospitaller) is the liaison and initial SCA contact for most people who are new to the SCA (whereas others follow their friends into it); as such, the Chatelaine has much information on how to get involved (how to put together basic clothing and "feast gear", and how to fit in, with the little courtesies, hints on recogizing ranks, and what to expect at various sorts of events).
