Heralds cover a number of areas, though many of them specialize: field (work on the listfields; many new heralds start here); court (court only, often know extra about court procedures); town crier (at events, for time calls, commercial announcements, PSAs; many new heralds start here); voice (field, court, town crier); "book" (researching names and devices through books and the Internet); protocol (specialist; knows things like the Order of Precedence, how to approach the Thrones, etc.).
We could probably sort them out more simply as: voice/name/device. Those who specialize in devices and badges tend to love to draw.
